MaxIQ is a product of Krylix (Pty) Ltd. At MaxIQ, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how Krylix (Pty) Ltd ("Krylix", "we", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use the MaxIQ website and mobile application. By using MaxIQ, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We collect information that you provide directly to us when you create an account, join our waitlist, or use our services. This includes:
- Account & waitlist information: Your name, email address, phone number, grade level, plan preference, and school name (if provided).
- Payment information: Transaction amounts, status, and references processed through Paystack. We do not store your full card or banking details. Payments are handled securely by our payment partners.
- Usage data: Information about how you use MaxIQ, including subjects studied, quiz performance, study streaks, XP earned, and time spent learning. This helps us personalise your experience.
- Device information: Your device type, operating system, and browser type for the purpose of ensuring compatibility and improving performance.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your MaxIQ account
- Personalise your learning experience and study plans
- Track your progress, streaks, and achievements
- Process waitlist sign-ups and optional launch prepayments
- Process payments for subscription plans
- Send you important updates about your account or the service
- Improve our app, content, and features
- Respond to your support requests and feedback
- Comply with legal obligations
4. Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure servers and protected using industry-standard encryption and security practices. We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers to host our application and database. Where personal information is processed or stored outside South Africa, we take steps consistent with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place.
5. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate MaxIQ:
- Paystack: Payment processing for card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay waitlist prepayments and subscriptions.
- Supabase: Secure database and backend infrastructure for waitlist entries, account data, and application services.
- Cloud infrastructure: We use reputable cloud hosting providers to store and serve our application and data.
These third-party services have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties.
6. Children's Privacy
MaxIQ is designed for students, many of whom may be under the age of 18. In compliance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and relevant South African regulations, we:
- Collect only the minimum data necessary to provide our service
- Do not sell, rent, or share personal information with marketers
- Do not use student data for targeted advertising
- Allow parents or guardians to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data

Under POPIA, you have the right to:

8. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.
9. Cookies & Tracking
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and ensure the app functions properly. We may use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with our platform so we can improve it.
