Terms of Service

By creating an account, accessing, or using MaxIQ, you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via email or a notice on our platform. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.

MaxIQ is an AI-powered educational platform designed for South African students. Our Service includes:

• CAPS-aligned curriculum content for Grades 10 to 12 and first-year university
• AI-powered study hosts (Max and Sage) for personalised learning
• Quizzes, flashcards, and adaptive practice questions
• Study plans based on exam schedules
• Gamification features including XP, streaks, and leaderboards
• AI-generated mock exams and practice assessments
• Voice input for hands-free learning on eligible paid plans
• Parent and guardian progress reports on eligible paid plans
• Past NSC exam papers and memos
• Bilingual support (English and Afrikaans)
• Offline / load-shedding mode on eligible paid plans

To use certain features of MaxIQ, you must create an account. When creating your account, you agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information
• Keep your account credentials confidential
• Not share your account with others
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use
• Be at least 13 years of age (users under 18 require parental/guardian consent)

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

MaxIQ offers the following subscription plans. All prices are in South African Rand (ZAR):

Prices shown on our website are the source of truth. Launch promo pricing applies to your first paid month when you prepay on the waitlist. After that, subscriptions renew at the regular monthly rate for your plan unless we notify you otherwise.

Subscriptions are billed monthly and can be cancelled at any time once the Service is live. You will retain access until the end of your current billing period. We reserve the right to adjust pricing with 30 days' notice.

MaxIQ is currently onboarding students through a waitlist. When you join, we collect your name, email, phone number, grade level, and plan preference. Joining the Free waitlist does not require payment.

For Maxer and Academic Weapon, you may optionally prepay your first month at the launch promo rate shown at checkout. A successful prepayment reserves your place in the launch wave for that plan tier but does not guarantee a specific launch date. We will contact you by email (and phone if needed) when access opens.

Prepaying does not create a recurring subscription until the full Service launches and you confirm ongoing billing, if applicable.

All payments are processed in South African Rand (ZAR) through Paystack. We accept card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay where available. Payment details are collected and processed securely by Paystack. Krylix (Pty) Ltd does not store your full card or banking credentials on our servers.

If a payment fails, is cancelled, or is reversed, you will not receive paid-tier benefits until a successful payment is completed. Transaction references may be stored so we can match your waitlist entry to your payment. See our Delivery Timeline for when access is granted.

All sales are final. MaxIQ does not offer refunds on waitlist prepayments, subscriptions, or other fees. Please read our full Refund Policy before paying.

Cancellations: You may cancel a recurring subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@maxiq.study. Cancellation stops future billing; you keep access until the end of the current paid period. No partial refunds are given for unused time.

If you were charged in error (duplicate or failed transaction), contact us within 7 days with your payment reference. Chargebacks or disputed transactions may result in suspension of your account while the matter is resolved.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you may have under applicable South African law that cannot be excluded by agreement.

You agree not to:

• Use MaxIQ for any unlawful purpose
• Copy, redistribute, or sell any content from the platform
• Attempt to reverse engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the platform
• Impersonate other users or misrepresent your identity
• Share your account login with others
• Bully, harass, or abuse other users or the AI hosts

All content on MaxIQ, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, icons, images, audio, video, software, and the overall design, is the property of Krylix (Pty) Ltd and is protected by South African and international copyright, trademark, and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, or create derivative works from any content on MaxIQ without our express written permission. The MaxIQ name, logo, and character designs (Max and Sage) are trademarks of Krylix (Pty) Ltd.

Max and Sage are AI-powered study hosts, not human teachers or tutors. AI-generated content may occasionally be incomplete or inaccurate. Always verify important facts against official CAPS materials, textbooks, and your educators.

MaxIQ is an educational tool designed to support learning. We do not guarantee specific academic results, grades, or exam outcomes. The content provided is based on the CAPS curriculum but should be used as a supplement to, not a replacement for, formal education.

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, Krylix (Pty) Ltd, its directors, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

You may cancel your account at any time by contacting us or through your account settings. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behaviour, or for any other reason at our discretion.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of MaxIQ shall be resolved in the courts of South Africa, with the Johannesburg High Court as the court of first instance.
